htc-ocean-note-tickerOne of the features of the LG V10 and LG V20 is that it comes with a secondary ticker display on the top of the phone. It’s a unique feature and one that HTC could be adopting in its upcoming phones. This is thanks to a recently leaked photo of the alleged HTC Ocean Note as discovered on Weibo by Android Police.

As you can see in the photo above, there appears to be a secondary ticker display at the top of the phone in which app icons are pictured. Presumably this is a shortcut of sorts to apps that you use frequently, or it could be a list of apps that are currently running in the background, but basically it doesn’t look like it is part of the main display.

It is unclear as to how HTC plans on using this feature and how it might differ from the ticker display on LG’s V-series of smartphones, so we guess we’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime rumors of the HTC Ocean Note have been floating about, one of which suggests that the phone could be doing away with the 3.5mm audio jack, a move done by other Android OEMs as well as Apple.

That being said, HTC has an event that they have planned for the 12th of January so we guess we’ll find out more then, so remember to check back with us this coming Thursday for the details.
