thinkpad-x1-tablet-1[CES 2017] Tablets are a dime a dozen if you’re a consumer looking for such a device for daily use. However if you are business user shopping about for tablets that meet certain requirements, such as security and ruggedness, your options are less. However Lenovo has recently announced the ThinkPad X1 that could be worth your consideration.

According to Lenovo, the company is claiming that this is a business tablet that has been tested against 12 military-grade requirements and has passed more than 200 quality checks, meaning that the ability to survive your daily commute, use in the field, and etc. should not pose any problems.

As for its specs, we are looking at a 12-inch QHD IPS display, and under the hood users can customize the tablet to pack an Intel Core i7 7th generation processor if they so choose. The ThinkPad X1 will also support up to 1TB of SSD OPAL2 PCIe-NVMe M.2 storage, and up to 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM.

There is also a fingerprint reader option, an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, and users can choose between Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Pro as their OS of choice. There is also an optional external keyboard addition if you prefer, and also a presenter module that’s basically a tiny projector that allows you to project a display up to 60-inches. No word on pricing or availability just yet.
