Razer launched its BlackWidow lineup of mechanical keyboards back in 2010 and since then they have become the keyboard of choice for many professional gamers. The company is kicking things up a notch today by unveiling the new Razer BlackWidow V2 mechanical gaming keyboard that features a new magnetic wrist rest and switch option aside from multiple cosmetic changes.

The Green and Orange variants continue with the BlackWidow’s legacy of offering great tactile switches and the new one adds an alternative Razer Yellow switch as well. The linear and silent design coupled with reduced travel distance enables users to press keys even faster than ever before.

Razer says that the new switch’s feel and properties are geared towards FPS and MOBA players who press certain keys thousands of times during the course of a match. Like the Green and Orange switches, the Razer Yellow switch is rated to 80 million keystrokes.

The new magnetic wrist rest optionally attaches to the bottom of the new keyboard and keep gamers comfortable during long gaming sessions. Razer really does believe that this is the best mechanical keyboard that it has ever produced.

The new keyboard also features individually backlit keys powered by Razer Chroma technology that unlocks customizable lighting features across multiple devices. Users can choose one of 16.8 million colors and a variety of effects.

Razer BlackWidow V2 keyboard is shipping now, price remains unchanged at $169.99.
