Razer officially announced its next-generation Wolverine V4 controller lineup engineered for Xbox and PC. Comprising the wireless Wolverine V4 Pro and the wired Tournament Edition, the series targets esports competitors by offering drift-resistant internal hardware, modular components, and an ultra-fast 8,000 Hz polling rate.
The lineup’s primary engineering breakthrough lies in its asymmetric thumbsticks, which utilize high-resolution capacitive sensors. Positioned as an advanced alternative to traditional Hall Effect and TMR mechanisms, the setup pairs with a 16-bit ADC chip capable of tracking roughly 3,000 distinct levels of movement. Razer states this architecture eliminates stick drift, improves positional precision, and lowers power draw to enhance battery life.
Rather than splitting hardware across platforms, Razer consolidated support into single units. On Xbox consoles, performance caps at 250 Hz, whereas PC connections reach an extreme 8,000 Hz—even wirelessly—delivering sub-1ms latency.

The premium Wolverine V4 Pro features extensive physical customization via a magnetic swappable faceplate, four removable back paddles, two claw-grip bumpers, and six interchangeable thumbstick caps in assorted shapes and heights. Through the Razer Synapse software, players can store up to four onboard profiles, calibrate dead zones between 0% and 15%, and adjust the Razer Pro HyperTriggers between a 1.3 mm mouse-click actuation for shooters and an 8.2 mm analog pull for racing titles. The face buttons utilize durable PBT plastic over mecha-tactile switches.
Conversely, the budget-friendly Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition is tailored specifically for standard competitive play. It retains the core internal sensor upgrades while omitting the modular magnetic faceplate and rubberized grips, substituting fixed rear buttons, and operating exclusively over a wired connection.
For the US market, the Razer Wolverine V4 Pro retails at $199.99, while the wired Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition is priced at $99.99. Both controllers are available now through Razer’s official storefront and authorized retail partners.
