Facebook is used by companies to help promote their products and services, and from time to time we’ve seen companies post updates with regards to hiring new employees. However this method isn’t exactly ideal and sometimes it can get lost in a sea of posts, especially if they forget to pin it to the top of the page.

However the good news is that if you live in the US or Canada, you will soon be able to post job listings on Facebook in a more official manner. According to Facebook’s announcement, “Beginning today, businesses in the US and Canada will be able to post job openings, and their future employees will be able to easily find those posts on their Page or in the new jobs bookmark. This new experience will help businesses find qualified people where they’re already spending their time—on Facebook and on mobile.”

Facebook will also allow companies to review applications submitted through the social network, and also let them get in touch with applicants via Messenger. “After posting a job, Page admins will be able to review applications and contact applicants on Messenger, all on mobile and all in one place. And as with other posts, they can boost job posts to reach a larger or more relevant audience.”

As for those who are seeking jobs, Facebook has also revealed that job posts could soon appear on News Feeds, posts on business pages, and the bookmark for jobs tab. No doubt this new feature is Facebook taking a shot at LinkedIn and given Facebook’s reach and active users, it could end up giving LinkedIn a run for their money.
