Samsung released the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge last month. The company is yet to confirm when it’s going to release said update for other compatible devices. Previous reports have suggested that the company is working on the Nougat update for the Galaxy S6. According to a new report, the Galaxy S6 Nougat release is going to take place before the end of this month.

Samsung’s Turkish vice president Tansu Yegen has revealed on Twitter that the Galaxy S6 Nougat release is going to take place before the end of February. He actually shared the timetable on February 8th but not much attention was paid to it then. The timetable mentions that the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will receive Nougat in Turkey by the second week of February.

The reason why this is making the rounds now is because true to his word, the Galaxy S7 series has received its Nougat update in Turkey today. This leads many to believe that the timetable is correct about the Galaxy S6 Nougat release as well which is said to take place in the fourth week of February.

If that’s true, it’s possible that Nougat for the Galaxy S6 may be released in other markets earlier than it’s planned for release in Turkey. Still, there has been no official press release from Samsung on this matter so we’ll have to wait and see how this plays out.
