Surface Book Prices Increased In The UK Following Brexit

Even before Brexit officially happened, it doesn’t take a financial genius or an economics guru to realize that if it were to happen, it would undoubtedly affect the economy of both the UK and the European market, and in turn affect the value of the GBP. This is why in recent times we’ve seen companies such as Microsoft increase the price of some of their services.

Unfortunately it looks like Microsoft wasn’t quite done with it yet because according to a report from TechCrunch, Microsoft’s Surface Book laptops have had their price increase as well. Customers in the UK who haven’t made their purchase yet can now expect to pay £1,449 for the base model, a good £150 more than what it cost previously.

In a statement provided by a Microsoft spokeswoman, “In response to a recent review we are adjusting the British pound prices of some of our hardware and consumer software in order to align to market dynamics.” Microsoft is not the first nor will they be the last company to increase their prices.

Apple had previously raised prices of their entire Mac lineup by roughly 25%, making the new MacBook Pros, which were already pretty expensive to begin with, even more expensive and out of reach for their customers. Unfortunately there’s really not much to be done so until then we guess Microsoft’s UK customers have no choice but to pay, or else they could always try and shop for an alternative.
