As far as CEOs go, Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk is pretty outspoken and has no problems turning his musings into reality. Recently it seems that Musk’s next challenge will take him to Australia as the CEO has recently challenged the South Australian and federal governments in which he said he would fix their power network within 100 days.

Now this is a boastful claim and we’re sure some of you might be wondering why would they even let him try? Simply because Musk has offered up a guarantee that if he is unable to fix their power network as promised, he will deliver the 100MW battery storage system to South Australia for free.

For those unfamiliar with the situation in South Australia, it seems that power shortages have been causing blackouts in the state and it has also resulted in the price spiking, which is obviously not good for people and businesses in the region. South Australia’s Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young replied to Musk’s claims with a, “Let’s talk!’

We’re not sure if anything will actually materialize from this bet, but we guess if it does happen, whether or not Musk is successful in his bet at least something is being done about it. Over in Australia, the Australian Renewable Energy Agency has approved a $450,000 grant to EnergyAustralia to look into a pumped hydro energy storage project in the Spencer Gulf.
