It can be daunting to travel on your own and if you’re not familiar with the local language, it can be particularly difficult to even find something to eat if you have to take care of dietary restrictions. If you’ve ever faced that problem you might have found yourself wishing for someone who knew the local language and could help you out. Google will be that friend for you as it’s now capable of translating local reviews into your language.

Granted that it has always been possible to translate reviews by copying and pasting them into a translation app, nevermind the fact that Google also owns one of the best mobile translation apps, but this new feature is just going to make life so much easier for everyone.

Users don’t really have to do much in order to take advantage of this feature. Just open Google Maps or Search and search for the restaurant or the point of interest that you’re interested in. The reviews will be automatically translated into your language.

Most users will see the review automatically translated into the language that they prefer. The review will also be displayed in the native language below the translation. This eliminates the hassle of having to copy and paste it into a translation app.
