If you use the Moto G5 Plus and you’re on Verizon’s network, it seems that it might be a good idea to disable VoLTE temporarily. This is because it has been discovered that if you have VoLTE enabled, you won’t be able to call out to 911 which is pretty damn dangerous especially in emergencies.

The good news is that according to a post on the Lenovo forums, the company seems to have identified the issue that is causing this problem and will be issuing a fix within the next week. “We have identified a software issue impacting Moto G5 Plus users on the Verizon network. Users with VoLTE enabled may be unable to make emergency (911) calls. We understand the importance of this issue and believe it’s important to disclose to our customers.”

“We will be issuing a fix for this issue within the next week. Please accept and install the software update as soon as it is offered on your device.” In the meantime like we mentioned above, the company has advised users to turn off VoLTE functionality for now until the fix has been patch. This ultimately means that users won’t be able to use voice and data at the same time, but note that this is only temporary so maybe you should go ahead and do it.
