Moto X4 Rumored To Be Project FI’s Next Compatible Device

When Project Fi was first launched, the most affordable handset that was supported on the network was the Nexus 5X, but given that the phone has since been listed as out of stock, this leaves customers with only the Pixel handsets, which isn’t exactly what many would consider to be an affordable device.

However recently Google had confirmed that a new Project Fi handset was in the works from one of their partners, and that it would be of the mid-tier variety. This has led to many wondering what that phone could be, but a recent report from Evan Blass on VentureBeat has revealed that the handset in question could be the Moto X4.

For those unfamiliar, the Moto X4 is basically 2017’s Moto X. Last year we saw Motorola skip the launch of the Moto X lineup in favor of the Moto Z, but the company had reassured customers that the Moto X had not been discontinued and replaced by the Moto Z. Instead from what we can tell from the leaked photos and rumors, the Moto X4 will be something of a mid-ranger, which seems to be in line with what Project Fi had teased.

Of course given that there are probably a ton of mid-range handsets out there, it’s hard to say if the Moto X4 will be the phone in question, but Blass has had a very decent track record so perhaps there could be some truth to it, but either way until we get the official details, take it with a grain of salt for now.
