When it comes to video game streaming, Twitch is pretty much the default platform that many might think of. Sure there are alternatives such as YouTube Gaming, but for now Twitch is still a pretty dominant platform. In fact some companies such as Blizzard have even attempted their own services by allowing gamers to livestream onto Facebook.

However it looks like things are changing as Twitch and Blizzard have officially announced a partnership in which Twitch will be the official and exclusive third-party streaming platform for the company’s games. “From now through 2018, Twitch and Blizzard fans will get the legendary treatment. Twitch will be the exclusive third-party streaming platform for more than 20 Blizzard tournaments.”

According to Twitch, “The best place to watch Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and StarCraft II just became even better with tons of exclusive content (you’ll find all the details in our press release). You can also expect community events, and, of course, some sweet, sweet loot.”

Twitch has also announced that those who are Twitch Prime members can expect to receive an Overwatch Golden Loot Box that is guaranteed to contain a legendary item in addition to other in-game items, such as emotes, voice lines, and skins. Twitch Prime members can also expect to receive an additional 10 Loot Boxes over the course of the next few months, and this will also eventually be applied to Heroes of the Storm and Hearthstone as well.
