If you really hate bloatware and don’t want to be tied to one carrier, you go for an unlocked and off-contract device. Sure, you have to pay full retail for it, but you do get peace of mind for your money. If you’ve been meaning to purchase the Galaxy S8 and have been waiting for the official unlocked models to arrive, now is the time to whip out your wallet. The unlocked Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ is now available for purchase in the United States.

Until now, it was only possible to purchase one of the two new Samsung flagships from carriers in the United States. This meant that those who did not want to get involved with carriers and didn’t like bloatware on their devices were out of the luck.

Fortunately, Samsung has been quick with the unlocked models this year. It has brought them to market in less than two months after the carrier variants of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ were released.

Interested customers can now purchase the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ unlocked and off-contract in the United States from Samsung.com for $724.99 and $824.99 respectively. Best Buy is selling them as well, both online and through its store locations across the country.
