Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Now Available On Xbox One

Despite initially claiming that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered would not be sold separately from Infinite Warfare, just last month the folks at Activision released the standalone title for the Sony PlayStation 4 console. It was reported back then that other platforms would follow soon after, and that’s what’s happening right now.

Announced on Major Nelson’s blog, it looks like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is finally available on the Xbox One console. The description reads, “One of the most critically-acclaimed games in history, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is back, remastered in true high-definition, featuring improved textures, physically based rendering, high-dynamic range lighting and much more.”

For those hearing about the game for the first time, Modern Warfare Remastered is as its name suggests, a remastering of the Modern Warfare title. The game was originally bundled together with the release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare back in 2016, and it looks like gamers now have the opportunity to purchase it as a standalone title.

The game is also available on the PC via Valve’s Steam platform, but recent reports have suggested that players on the PC aren’t too thrilled with its release, citing the hefty price tag, performance issues, DLCs, and hackers in multiplayer as some of its problems, but hopefully the Xbox One version will be fine.
