If there is one thing about the Street Fighter series that we’ve noticed is that Capcom seems to love creating many versions of a particular release, which can be admittedly confusing for fans or those new to the series. However it seems that this won’t be changing anytime soon because Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition has been spotted.

In a listing on ShopTo’s website (via Eurogamer), the retailer has suggested that Capcom might have an “Arcade Edition” of Street Fighter 5 in the works that is set for a release on the 16th of January, 2018. One could argue that ShopTo is simply speculating, but the date does seem to be awfully specific. The listing has since been removed which suggests that either it was made in error, or ShopTo shared something that they shouldn’t have prematurely.

At the moment it is unclear as to what the Arcade Edition entails, but it has been speculated that it will be a game-of-the-year kind of release where the game along with all of its DLCs will be released in a single bundle, as well as potential new features like an arcade mode, making it easier for gamers who don’t own the game to get right into the thick of things.

It is expected that Capcom could announce the title at the Tokyo Game Show, so do check back with us later to see if there are any additional details to be had.
