Say what you will about Apple and their iPhones being overpriced and sporting features that Android phones have had for years, but if there’s one thing that’s hard to refute is Apple’s support for their iPhones, where they tend to offer support and major OS updates for devices as old as four years.

This is versus Android where depending on the manufacturer, might only see support for 1-2 major Android updates. However the good news for Samsung users is that Samsung could be looking to change that perception. In a post on Weibo (via BGR), an alleged list of Samsung devices that will receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update has been leaked.

Obviously handsets like the Galaxy S8, S8+, and the Note 8 are in that list, but what’s surprising is that the list includes devices as old as the Galaxy S6, which is in line with an earlier report. Other devices part of that list include the Note 5, the 2016 Galaxy A8 and A9 Pro, the Galaxy C series, along with some Samsung tablets from 2016.

It’s hard to say how accurate this list is or if it is even official, but since Samsung has yet to officially announce anything it’s probably best taken with a grain of salt. However if you’re still holding onto an older Samsung tablet or smartphone, perhaps it could eventually see the Oreo update.
