According to Motorola’s confirmation from several months ago, we know that the Moto Z2 Force would be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo. Recently the update has started to find its way to Verizon’s version of the handset, but now it seems that the update is also making its way onto T-Mobile’s version of the phone.

This is according to a post on a Reddit in which Redditor shakenfrog claims to have received the update on his phone. He also posted a message from a T-Mobile rep on Twitter which reads, “The update looks pretty official, I don’t see any of our info updated yet but if everything is running smoothly I say keep using it. I am betting that we should be pushing the update out soon since the current phase is right before we officially push it. You just scored it early I suppose. :)”

It isn’t surprising that T-Mobile might have started to quietly roll out the update to some users. Presumably this is just to test the rollout and also to see if there might be any issues that they can rectify before the update is released to the masses. So far it seems that everything is running fine, which means that it shouldn’t take too long until the update find its way to other Moto Z2 Force users on T-Mobile’s network, so if that’s you, you’ll want to keep an eye out for it.
