The Rollercoaster Tycoon title is something of a classic as far as games are concerned, especially back in the day where sim-based games were at its peak (i.e. Sim City, Sim Tower, Theme Hospital, and so on). We’ve seen Atari bring the title onto various platforms, such as mobile, and now it looks like they want to bring it onto the Switch as well.

However it seems that Atari is looking to raise funds to bring the game onto the Switch through StartEngine which is essentially a crowdfunding platform. We’ve seen developers turn to crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo in the past, so this move by Atari doesn’t really come as a surprise.

According to the campaign’s description, “The unmitigated success of the RollerCoaster Tycoon franchise made the opportunity clear for Atari Game Partners: deliver the first RollerCoaster Tycoon game for the Nintendo Switch. The RollerCoaster Tycoon franchise needs to be put in the hands of even more gamers and developed for the new and innovative Nintendo Switch! RollerCoaster Tycoon on Nintendo Switch will be an all-new game made specifically for Switch with exclusive features.”

For those who are interested in seeing Rollercoaster Tycoon arrive for the Switch and wouldn’t mind making an investment, then head on over to the StartEngine website for the details.
