When it comes to Android updates and due to the sheer number of models that some companies put out on an annual basis, it’s not surprising (but unfortunate) that companies usually tend to focus on their high-end flagship devices, and if they have enough time and resources, it does trickle down to their mid-range and sometimes low-end devices.

The good news is that if you own either the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime or the Tab E 8, you’ll be pleased to learn that T-Mobile has confirmed that both of these devices are slated to get the Android 8.0 Oreo update. This was confirmed on T-Mobile’s support page for both devices where according to T-Mobile, it is currently under “Manufacturer Development”, which basically means that “T-Mobile and the device manufacturer have agreed to support a new software update.”

Unfortunately there is no word on when the update will be released, so users of either device could be left waiting for either a short time or a long time, and we’ll just have to wait and see how it plays out. It has also been noted that there is no mention as to whether or not the international/unlocked variants of either device will receive the Oreo update, but if T-Mobile’s versions were to get it, we wouldn’t be surprised if it expanded to other versions as well.
