The other day it was reported that HTC is working on a phone codenamed “Breeze”. The handset in question is rumored to be a low-end/entry-level handset, and now according to a tweet by Evan Blass, it seems that the handset in question has since been “confirmed” to be the HTC Desire 12.

For those unfamiliar, HTC’s “Desire” lineup tends to consist of phones in the low-mid range which is more or less in line with the leaked specs. As a recap for those who forgot, the HTC Desire 12 “Breeze” is rumored to feature a 5.5-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is also rumored to be powered by a MediaTek chipset (model not specified), come with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 13MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, and a 2,730mAh battery to boot.

As for pricing, Blass notes that it should be priced to reflect its specs, which means that it will most likely end up being a budget-friendly device. As for when the phone will be announced, that’s really anyone’s guess. MWC is coming up and there is a possibility that the phone could be announced then.

However we have heard rumors that HTC might not unveil anything at MWC due to Samsung announcing the Galaxy S9 at the event, an announcement which will surely eclipse all others. Either way with the event kicking off on the 25th of February, we guess we won’t have to wait too long to find out.
