Nokia 8 Pro With Snapdragon 845 Reportedly Being Developed

Nokia is expected to unveil a new handset, the Nokia 7+, at the Mobile World Congress 2018 next week. However, if a new report is to be believed, it may not be the only new handset that the company has been working on recently. The report suggests that there’s a “Nokia 8 Pro” in the pipeline that’s powered by the Snapdragon 845 chip, Qualcomm’s high-end processor for 2018.

Nokia 8 Pro is reportedly going to be one of the first flagships that Nokia releases this year and it’s said to be launched around August-September 2018. This suggests that there’s no chance we’ll get to see this at MWC 2018 next week if it does exist.

While there have been rumors about another flagship device called the Nokia 10, the report claims that the Nokia 8 Pro is actually going to be the same device that was previously known in the rumor mill as the Nokia 10.

The “Pro” in the name and the Snapdragon 845 chip make it evident that it’s going to be a flagship device with flagship-level specs. This may pave the way for the rumored Penta-lense camera module with rotating zoom, even though that’s far from confirmed at this point in time.

A purported sketch of the device has been leaked online and it suggests that the fingerprint sensor will be positioned below the camera on the back because it’s expected that the device will have an 18:9 aspect ratio display.

HMD Global, the company that’s making these Nokia-branded devices, is yet to confirm anything about a Nokia 8 Pro so take this information with a grain of salt for now.
