Snapchat comes with a bunch of filters and lenses that users can use for free, however the company actually started to monetize those features back in 2016 where they allowed users to create their own custom geofilters for a price. If the idea of making your own filters and/or lenses sounds appealing to you, Snapchat is now making it available on a wider scale.

The company has started to allow users to create custom filters and lenses where it will be priced starting at $10. For lenses the price is expected to increase depending on the size of the location that you’ve chosen, the duration of the lens, and so on, which means that the more ambitious you are, the pricier it could get.

However for $10, we suppose just about anyone can get into it, especially if they want to use it for one-off events like a birthday, a wedding, or any kind of special occasion. These filters and lenses won’t be available immediately as Snap has suggested that users prepare them at least 3 hours ahead of their event if they hope to run it on time.

The company is also claiming that these features will be limited to consumers, and that brands or companies hoping to leverage the feature won’t have their creations approved in the submission process. For those interested, you can head on over to Snapchat’s website or launch the Snapchat app to start the creation process.
