There are some apps that we rarely use or only need to use once, so downloading it and installing it and setting it up can be rather inefficient. This is where Google’s “Instant Apps” feature comes in handy where through a link via Google Search, users can use certain apps instantly without the need to install it.
The good news is that Google is now extending that functionality to games in the form of Google Play Instant. This is essentially the same thing like Instant Apps, except that it works for games as well. This means that gamers who want to check out the demos of certain games can do so in the same way without needing to download the entire game.
According to Google, “With all the great games available on Google Play, we want to make discovery easier and remove friction during the install process. Installing and opening a game takes time and results in many players never getting to experience your game. We’re thrilled to announce that instant apps is now available for games. This means that with a tap, players can try a game without having to download it first.”
Note many games will be compatible at the start, but it will cover some popular titles such as Clash Royale, Words with Friends 2, and Bubble Witch 3 Saga. Google notes that the feature is still in closed beta and that it expects that it will be made available more broadly later this year.
