Unless you’re someone who spends a lot of time and thought into organizing their files on their computer, there’s a good chance that after a few years, your folders tend to get super messy and sometimes filled with files that you might have completely forgotten about until now. The good news for Google Drive users is that Google wants to help.

In an announcement on its blog, Google has announced that they will be updating Google Drive where they will introduce AI to help with better file organization. According to Google, “Searching for content by owner is the most popular way to search for content in Drive today. The new interface will use artificial intelligence to predict the people and files that you’re most likely to search for and make them more visible. We hope that this will help you find the files you’re looking for more quickly.”

“The predictions will improve as the system learns how it’s used. We’re also working on more features which will use artificial intelligence and machine learning to make it easier to find files and collaborate more efficiently in Drive.” Google expects these changes will roll out over the course of the next few weeks and will be available to all Google Drive users, so keep an eye out for it if you’re someone who has a very messy folder.
