Considering that the emphasis placed on Overwatch is for online play where players fight it out against each other, there doesn’t leave much room for in-game storytelling, unlike RPGs or MMORPGs where players can learn more about the world through quests. However we reckon Blizzard has done a good job so far.

They have released animated shorts and comics that help to tell the story of various characters in the game, adding some depth to the overall proceedings. In fact if you’re loving the comics that Blizzard has released so far, you’ll be pleased to learn that the company has released its latest comic dubbed “Retribution”.

According to Blizzard, “Following a large-scale attack on Overwatch’s facilities in Oslo, Norway, Blackwatch gets to work gathering intel so the peace-keeping organization can pursue justice. Their findings point to one of Talon’s high-ranking members but taking him down will prove to be a complicated affair. Blackwatch agents are tasked with apprehending the mastermind, but their plans are quickly interrupted…”

As the description reads, this comic will focus on the Blackwatch, which before Overwatch’s downfall was a group within the organization that handle all the black ops in which characters such as Reaper, Genji, McCree, and Moira are part of. It also seems to set up the upcoming in-game “Retribution” event that will be going live next week. In any case for those who are interested, the comic can be found in full and for free on Blizzard’s website.
