Overwatch is mostly a multiplayer game where players compete against each other in matches. However if you more of a PvE player, not to worry as Blizzard has since announced an upcoming seasonal event for Overwatch dubbed “Retribution”. This will be a PvE event that will run from the 10-30th of April.
According to Blizzard’s description of the upcoming event, players will play as members of the Blackwatch in one of their missions. “Travel eight years into the past and join Blackwatch as they seek to capture a high-ranking member of the Talon organization. Fight in the streets of Venice as Genji, Moira, McCree, or Reyes (later known as Reaper) to complete the mission and unlock pieces of the past with over 100 items from last year and 60 new ones—including highlight intros, emotes, sprays, and more.”
For those unfamiliar, the Blackwatch was the black ops division in Overwatch before the organization’s fall. They handled tasks that were deemed too “dirty” to be handled by the rest of the organization, and some notable Overwatch antagonists have come from the group. This includes Reaper, Moira, Genji, and McCree, just to name a few.
Blizzard has also recently published a comic about the Blackwatch also dubbed “Retribution” that will help provide players with some context and insight to the backstory of the group for those who are interested.
