If you’re someone who loves video chatting with your friends, the downside to most video chat calls is that they are limited to one-on-one calls. However the good news for Snapchat users is that the company has recently announced that they will be rolling out a new group video call feature.

As the name implies, this is a feature where users can video chat with each other in a group, up to 16 users at a time. According to Snapchat, “Today, we’re making Chat even more fun. Now you can video chat with up to 16 of your friends at one time. Just tap the video camera icon in a Group Chat to get your friends together! Friends in the Group Chat will receive a notification inviting them to join.”

In addition to group video chatting, users will also be able to continue to use other Snapchat features such as lenses. Users can also opt not to participate in the video chat and continue to send messages which might be useful if they’re in a situation where they can’t enable their video but would like to be part of the conversation anyway.

The feature is being rolled out as we speak and is expected to find its way to all Snapchat users around the world this week, so do keep an eye out for it if this is something you’re interested in.
