Asus is tapping into the cryptocurrency mining trend with a new motherboard it has announced today that can support up to 20 GPUs, thus enabling users to effectively power an entire mining farm with one single board. It’s aptly called the H370 Mining Master motherboard and as you can probably tell, it has been developed with the express purpose of mining cryptocurrency in mind.

The new motherboard takes the baton from the Asus B250 Mining Expert which was released last year. It made ambitious cryptocurrency hobbyist farms more accessible while also making large-scale operations more efficient. The company says that the sales volume of the board far exceeded its expectations.

Not only does the new H370 Mining Master motherboard have support for up to 20 graphics cards, it also makes connectivity simpler by allowing USB riser cables to plug directly into the PCB. This reduces the downtime by making it easier to diagnose and fix problems.

Since mining is all about numbers, users will only turn a profit if the value of cryptocurrency they generate exceeds the cost of producing it. One way to achieve that is by increasing the number of graphics cards per node. The H370 Mining Master makes this simpler with banks of vertical PCIe-over-USB ports through which riser cables can be plugged directly into the motherboard.

Asus will be showcasing this “blockchain behemoth” at its booth in Nangang Hall from June 5th through June 9th at Computex 2018 in Taiwan. The company is yet to confirm pricing but says that it’s going to be available in North America in Q3 2018.
