It has been less than a year since Epic Games released Fortnite and it has proven to be a major hit for the company. Epic has now provided the updated player figures for Fortnite and they’re nothing short of impressive. The developer has confirmed that Fortnite has more than 125 million players across the globe less than a year after its launch.

Fortnite was launched in July 2017 but Epic Games didn’t launch the battle royale mode initially. That arrived a few months later in September 2017.

The last time Epic provided figures for the game was back in January this year when the company revealed that the game had been downloaded 45 million times. Epic’s investor Tencent also confirmed last week that more than 40 million people play Fortnite once a month.

It’s not surprising to see that Fortnite has become so popular given the fact that it’s available on almost all major platforms. It doesn’t hurt that the game is free to play as well. The Nintendo Switch was left out and that has been rectified as well since Fortnite is arriving on Nintendo Switch too.

The only major platform left now is Android and Epic has already confirmed that Fornite for Android will eventually be released as well in the not too distant future.
