The Stories feature of Instagram used to be somewhat one dimensional where users would just post photos or videos. However the feature has evolved over time where it now allows users to add all kinds of interactive features, such as the ability to tag people, reshare posts, and even ask users to take part in polls.

However according to Android Police, that’s not all that they are testing. It seems that Instagram is now allowing users to ask their followers questions in Stories. We’ve seen how some popular Instagram users have been doing AMAs by asking users to send in DMs, so this is essentially the same thing except in a more official format that looks uniform.

This also expands on other Instagram features like polls and sliders where questions can now be in long-form. That being said, this feature is currently in testing and apparently only a handful of users are seeing it, such as the user in the screenshot above which based on the language could either come from Malaysia or Indonesia.

Presumably this feature will eventually roll out to more users in the future if the testing goes well, so do keep an eye out for it if this sounds like a feature you think you would be able to make use of.
