The Razer Phone is the company’s first gaming smartphone and there’s nothing to suggest that it will also be its last. Not much has been said about the successor to this device so far but if a new report is to be believed, the Razer Phone 2 will possibly be released by the end of this year.

Razer Global vice-president Chen Xiaoping has reportedly revealed at ChinaJoy 2018, an annual gaming trade show in Shanghai, that the company may launch a new gaming smartphone in China by the end of this year.

The time frame is accurate as the Razer Phone was launched back in November last year. Chen didn’t reveal too many details about the upcoming device but did mention that it will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon processor, the Snapdragon 845. That’s to be expected since every other Android flagship is using this chip.

Some rumors have even suggested that perhaps the Razer Phone 2 might be the first smartphone to use the 7nm Snapdragon 855 that’s due in December this year but there’s no concrete evidence to support that theory just yet.

No further information is available about the Razer Phone 2 specs right now but we can expect to hear more about it through rumors and leaks in the coming months.
