With the various leaks and rumors, it has been all but confirmed that a BlackBerry KEY2 LE smartphone is in the works. In fact TCL seemed to have confirmed as much with a save the date invitation that they shared with the media with an announcement scheduled for the 30th of August.

Now in a post on the official BlackBerry Mobile Twitter page, it appears that the handset is being teased in which the back portion of the phone is shown off. The teaser doesn’t really tell us much but it does corroborate an earlier leak which showed off the pattern of the phone’s back, although exactly what kind of material we might be looking at is unclear.

In terms of specs, there hasn’t been much said yet officially, but the rumors are claiming a 4.5-inch 1080×1620 display with a 3,500mAh battery, and a 13MP + 5MP dual camera setup on the back. The handset is said to be based on the BlackBerry KEY2, although given its somewhat pared down specs, it has been speculated that this could be the “lite” model.

Either way take it with a grain of salt for now, but do check back with us during IFA 2018 next week where all the official details will be revealed.
