Back in the early days of computing, Windows 95 was considered to be the operating system of choice for many. Safe to say that we have all come a very long way since those days, but in case you wanted to relive those memories of the good old days, you’ll be able to because Windows 95 is now an app that you can run on your computer.

Slack developer Felix Rieseberg was the one responsible for making this project a reality, which is based on an existing web project that supports Windows 95, 98, and a bunch of older operating systems. Now this particular app does not require users to create a separate boot disk or software like Parallels, instead it will run like a regular app meaning that you could run Windows 95 while using Windows 10 (inception much?).

The entire app has been packaged and weighs in around 129MB in size and can be downloaded over at Github. The best part is that it appears to support multiple operating systems, such as macOS and Linux in addition to Windows. There will also be older versions of Microsoft apps such as Wordpad, MS Paint, and Minesweeper that can be run within the app.

That being said, the app has been designed to be a fun way to relive the good old days of Windows. We doubt that many will be using it as their daily driver, but if you want to take it for a spin, why not?
