It was reported recently that ZTE may soon announce its first new smartphone after its lengthy legal troubles in the United States that led to the company ceasing core operations for several weeks. ZTE ended all speculation today by confirming that this new device is the Axon 9 Pro. It has shared an official image of the device even though it’s yet to be properly announced.

ZTE has posted the official image of the Axon 9 Pro on its Twitter and Weibo accounts. It hasn’t said anything about the handset’s specifications. The image does reveal that this device is going to have a dual camera system at the back and a notched. That’s standard kit for a device in 2018.

A circular fingerprint sensor at the back can also be made out in the image. It does have a chin upfront even though the device doesn’t have a physical home button due to its tall, notched display.

The build itself appears to largely feature metal and glass so this may very well be a new premium device from ZTE. The company appears to have stuck with a formula that’s working well this year for most smartphone manufacturers.

ZTE is expected to formally announce the Axon 9 Pro at the upcoming IFA 2018 convention in Berlin later this month.
