Fortnite finally arrived on Android a couple of weeks ago. It’s only available in beta right now. The beta itself is limited to Samsung devices and those with non-Samsung devices that have received an invite to test out the beta. The Android port is still in development which is why it doesn’t come as a surprise that the latest patch brings a new feature: voice chat.

The Fortnite mobile beta v5.40 patch that’s rolling out today brings the voice chat feature to players on Android. It’s pretty self-explanatory, they will be able to voice chat with other players as they play via their Android devices.

A new capture-the-flag mode called Getaway is included in this patch as well and will be available to players for a limited time. The mode is all about teamwork and players will gain new rewards once they complete the various challenges.

The new grappler gun is also included in this patch. It will latch on to anything that it’s shot at so it can be used to move quickly as well by pulling yourself towards whatever you used it to shoot at.

The full patch notes for Fortnite mobile beta v5.40 are now available on Epic Games’ website. It’s yet to confirm when this title will be released for all Android users.
