While emojis are a good way of expressing your feelings without words, sometimes they aren’t enough and that’s where GIFs come in handy, where you can share your feeling and thoughts in fun and animated ways. For those who use Instagram and would like to see GIF support, you’re in luck, sort of.Instagram has announced that they will now support users sending GIFs via Direct. This means that you will now be able to send GIFs to other users in private messages. Granted we’re sure that some would like to be able to upload GIFs to their profile, but who knows, perhaps this could be the first step in that direction.
According to Instagram, “In any message thread, tap the new GIF button in the composer bar to open a library of the latest trending GIFs powered by GIPHY. Swipe through to see what’s currently trending or search using keywords or phrases to find the perfect GIF to make your friends laugh.”
Users will also be able to send each other random GIFs simply by tapping the random button from the GIFs that they have searched for. GIF support for Instagram is now live and available in the latest version of the app for iOS and Android, so update your app if you haven’t done so already.
