Dual cameras on smartphones has almost become a standard feature these days, but we’re seeing companies like Huawei push the boundaries with triple cameras. Samsung had recently launched their own triple camera smartphone, but there have been rumors that a quad camera smartphone could also be in development.

Now in a post by AllAboutSamsung.de, it seems that a render of the alleged handset has surfaced. It should be pointed out that it is unclear if this render is an actual leak, or if it is a concept. This is because due to the translation of the website, it does reference “concept” a couple of times, so it is possible that we could be looking at a mockup of what the phone could look like.

That being said, we’re not sure what the point of a quad camera setup could be and what kind of benefits there could be versus a dual or triple camera setup. However Samsung did confirm that they will be hosting an event on the 11th of October where presumably more details about the phone will be revealed.

So far what we have heard is that the phone could sport an in-display fingerprint sensor, the use of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, and a 3,720mAh battery.
