The problem with Android phones is that when it comes to updates, it’s hard to predict when the update will be released for your phone, if at all. Generally speaking flagship phones are safe for at least two updates, but what about the rest? Thankfully HMD Global isn’t being picky about its updates and have announced the timeline for its Android Pie update for its Nokia phones.

Now HMD has already rolled out the Android Pie update for some of its phones, but for the rest of its lineup, the company has confirmed that the Nokia 6.1 and 6.1 Plus can expect the update in October, which will be followed by the Nokia 7.1 and Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco in November.

Some might have noticed that this lineup doesn’t cover all of HMD’s Nokia phones, such as the Nokia 3, 5, 6, or 8, so what gives? HMD has not forgotten about those devices and in a tweet back in August, the company did confirm that those devices are eligible for the Android Pie update, but when exactly the update will be made available from them remains to be seen. Either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information about the updates so check back with us later for the details.
