Desktops generally tend to be more comfortable to work on compared to laptops, but at the same time we know that there are some users out there who travel a lot and thus laptops are more convenient. However when you’re home or at the office, hooking the laptop up to an external display is a pretty common scenario.

There are various monitors out there to choose from, and HP is adding one more to that list in the form of the EliteDisplay E243d which the company is referring to as a docking monitor. For the most part the device is still a monitor where users can use with their desktop computers, but it will come with features like a USB-C port where you can plug a laptop in where it will be able to simultaneously charge the laptop.

The E243d will feature an IPS with LED backlight panel technology, a 7ms response time, and a native resolution of 1920×1080 with a 60Hz refresh rate. There is also a built-in webcam with 720p resolution, dual array microphones, and can also be hidden when not in use for those who might be concerned about their privacy.

It is a somewhat standard monitor, although admittedly it does feature a rather sleek design that minimalists might be able to appreciate, and for an asking price of $329, it’s not particularly expensive.
