When it comes to webcams for computers and assuming you’re using a third-party webcam, there’s a good chance that it might be from Logitech. For the most part Logitech’s webcams have done a good job for those looking to make video calls, vlogging directly in front of PCs, and streaming.

However Logitech thinks it given today’s landscape in terms of creating video content, there needs to be software that can better cater to the needs of creators, and have announced a new webcam app called “Capture”. According to Logitech, Capture was designed to help simplify certain aspects of video production.

According to Logitech, this includes features such as being able to record video from multiple sources, creating vertical videos in 9:16 format, the ability to livestream directly to platforms such as YouTube while using the Capture software as a virtual camera, the ability to add studio-style controls to recordings, and also the ability to customize your camera settings.

However it should be noted that for now, Capture is currently in beta for the Logitech C920, C922, and BRIO 4K Pro Webcam. This is a public beta so users can take part in it if they wish if they want, but given its beta status, you should be aware of bugs and certain features that might not necessarily work as intended yet.
