Netflix HDR support on select smartphones means that the devices are capable of streaming HDR-quality content from the video streaming behemoth. The list of supported devices is regularly updated as additional devices receive support. Two Sony and one LG smartphone have now been added to this list.

The LG G7 one, Sony Xperia XZ3, and the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium has now received Netflix HDR support. They follow in the footsteps of the Huawei Mate 10, P20, and the Sony Xperia XZ2. Those three handsets recently received this support as well.

It’s not surprising that the LG G7 One has got it as well given that the LG G7 already has it. The major difference between these handsets is that the G7 One is on Google’s Android One program. It’s not surprising for the XZ2 Premium as well because the Sony Xperia XZ2 has already been on the list of compatible devices.

Netflix has a dedicated section on its website which lists the devices that are compatible with the HDR content on its platform. To take the full advantage of this functionality, subscribers need to pony up for the UHD subscription plan. It’s not possible to stream HDR quality content from Netflix on the cheapest tier.
