While Blizzard franchises such as StarCraft, Warcraft, and Diablo have been around much longer, it seems that Overwatch is catching up rapidly in terms of popularity, especially in modern pop culture. Not only have we seen companies such as Habro hop on board the Overwatch bandwagon with Nerf blasters, but now it seems that LEGO is next.

In a post on Twitter, Overwatch’s director Jeff Kaplan has revealed and confirmed that Overwatch will be getting its own LEGO sets. It is unclear as to what kind of sets we might be able to expect, but we wouldn’t be surprised if we saw some of the game’s more popular maps get remade into LEGO sets, which would actually be kind of cool.

We also expect that various Overwatch characters will be getting their own figurines, as in the video above that shows Tracer who has more or less become the de facto Overwatch mascot. Hasbro and LEGO aren’t the first to try and take advantage of the game’s popularity. We have also seen how Japanese company Good Smile Company created Nendoroid figurines based on Overwatch, so this hardly comes as a surprise.

There is no word on when these LEGO sets will be revealed, but if you’re a fan of LEGO and/or Overwatch, it is definitely something to keep an eye out for.
