We get that some people like driving with their pets in their cars, but there are times where you might go to a place that isn’t pet-friendly. Unfortunately for many people, this means that they have to leave their pets in the car which on hot days is just a terrible idea because their pets might get too hot and die.

However the good news for pet owners is that Tesla has announced that they will be making changes to its software where they will introduce a new feature that lets you keep pets in your car without them dying. This was seemingly confirmed by Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk where he responded to a tweet by a user asking about a “dog mode”.

That being said, it should be noted that this isn’t the first time Tesla has introduced such a feature. Back in 2016 the company introduced a feature called Cabin Overheat Protect that basically keeps the car’s temperature at “safe” levels for hours, meaning that you could in theory leave your pet (or kid) in the car without them getting a heatstroke, although we reckon that this is still a pretty bad idea.

There’s no word on when Tesla plans on rolling out the feature to users, so we’ll just have to remain patient and wait for the update to arrive, but like we said, it’s still debatable as to whether or not it is a good idea to leave your pets or kids in the car unattended, even if they are kept at comfortable temperatures.
