Uber Eats Looking To Reach 70% Of U.S. Population By Year’s End

Uber’s food delivery service, aptly called Uber Eats, has grown considerably overseas. The company is now focusing on growth at home. It has said that Uber Eats will be looking to reach 70 percent of the U.S. population by the end of this year. There’s only a couple of months left in 2018 so this is certainly going to be an ambitious effort on the company’s part.

Uber Eats currently reaches a little over 50 percent of the U.S. population. More than 100,000 restaurants are signed up for delivery through this service. The target represents a growth of 20 percent in less than three months so it will require tremendous effort on the company’s part to achieve this ambitious target.

One of the ways the service will make this happen is by primarily targeting suburban communities and teaming up with big restaurant chains such as TGI Friday’s and Red Lobster. It’s also going to change the signup process for restaurants so that smaller businesses can easily get on the platform.

The service hasn’t provided the list of cities and towns that it’s going to be focusing on in this push. “We’re not sharing names of US cities at this time,” reiterated a spokesperson for the company.
