HBO is yet to confirm precisely when season 8 of its hit show Game of Thrones is going to air. What the company has done is narrow it down for us even further. We previously knew that it was going to arrive in 2019 and now the cable giant has confirmed the month in a new teaser that it has released today for Game of Thrones Season 8.

HBO has confirmed through this new Game of Thrones season 8 trailer that the show will premiere in April 2019. The precise date has not yet been confirmed and will likely be revealed much closer to the actual day.

The teaser doesn’t bring us any footage from the new season as it’s made up entirely of clips from earlier seasons all of which are now streaming on HBO Go as well as HBO Now, the standalone streaming service. The clips simply provide a glimpse of the events that have happened so far as they range from Ned Stark’s execution in season one to the previous season’s massive battle.

So the teaser merely serves as a reminder for fans that they can catch up on the previous six seasons ahead of the latest season’s arrival in April 2019. As it’s just a few months away, it may not be long before HBO releases a proper trailer for the new season which actually brings us new footage.
