For those who grew up surrounded by comic books, Stan Lee is no doubt a name you’re familiar with. The legend who helped develop many iconic Marvel characters has since passed away at age 95. The news of his passing was initially reported by TMZ and has since has been confirmed by multiple outlets including The Hollywood Reporter.

Even for those who might not necessarily be familiar with Lee’s work at Marvel, Lee has been making various cameos in pretty much every Marvel movie that has come out since. A report from IGN has confirmed that Lee had already recorded his cameo for the upcoming Avengers 4 movie which is scheduled for a 2019 release, which could possibly be the very last time we see him in a Marvel movie.

Lee has been credited for creating and co-creating a variety of characters in the Marvel universe that have gone on to become extremely successful. This includes Black Panther, Spider-Man, the X-Men, Thor, Iron Man, Fantastic Four, the Incredible Hulk, Daredevil, and Ant-Man, just to name a few.

He wasn’t just known for his character creation, but also his writing process which resulted in the what is now known as the Marvel Method, a method still used today to help put together comics.
