When it comes to handheld gaming, Nintendo has pretty much that market cornered with its 3DS console, although our mobile phones are also doing a good job of allowing us to game on the go. However come 2019, we might have a new contender in the form of the SMACH Z which is scheduled to enter production early next year.

For those who are learning about the SMACH Z for the first time, this device has been in existence for the past few years, although it existed mainly in crowdfunding campaigns where its creators tried to raise money towards its development and production. So far its campaigns have proven to be extremely successful and according to its creators, will begin production in Q1 2019.

What makes the SMACH Z unique is the fact that it will be powered by an AMD Ryzen Embedded and Radeon Vega 8 technology, which makes it very powerful. We are also looking at 8GB + 8GB dual channel DDR4 RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 6-inch Full HD display. Unfortunately it doesn’t come cheap as the device will cost over $1,000, but given how powerful it is, it’s almost like putting a gaming PC into your hands.

That being said, there is no word on when it will be released to the masses, but with production kicking off early next year, hopefully it should be available within the same year as well.
