It is safe to say that when Blizzard officially announced Diablo Immortal, a mobile version of its action RPG, that they did not anticipate that it would receive the amount of backlash it did. Blizzard has since reassured gamers that they still had multiple Diablo projects in the works, and the good news is that we might learn more about it in 2019.

In a post made on the Blizzard forums, Blizzard has since reassured gamers that over the course of the next year, the company will be sharing more details about the multiple Diablo-related projects that are currently in the works, which presumably many gamers are hoping is Diablo 4.

According to the post, “We continue to read feedback and our internal discussions are ongoing. We have many plans for Diablo across multiple projects which we’ll be revealing over the course of the coming year. We are eager to share more about all of our projects, but some will have to wait as we prefer to show you, rather than tell you, about them. It’s going to take some time as we strive to meet your expectations, but now, more than ever, we are committed to delivering Diablo experiences the community can be proud of.”

There was a rumor that ahead of the Diablo Immortal unveil that Blizzard was actually planning on announcing Diablo 4, but the company has since denied those rumors. In fact the company had actually attempted to downplay Diablo 4 speculation by addressing the rumors before BlizzCon 2018.
