If you’re in the market for a new set of monitors, LG has you covered as the company has announced a new lineup of Ultra monitors that is aimed at users who might either need an ultrawide display, or for gamers who might need that extra fast refresh rate for when they are playing games.

Starting with the 2019 LG UltraWide monitors, these come in two sizes: a 49-inch model and a 38-inch model, which are available in 32:9 and 21:9 aspect ratios respectively. They will also feature different resolutions, where the 49-inch model will have a resolution of 5120 x 1440, while the 38-inch model will have a resolution of 3840 x 1600.

The smaller model will also be the brighter of the two with 450 nits versus 350 nits of the 49-inch, but it will not come with a USB-C port on the back so if you wanted to plug a laptop to it, you’d have to do so via HDMI or DP. As for the LG UltraGear gaming monitor, this monitor will feature a 144Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 3840×1600 and also support for NVIDIA’s G-SYNC technology.

Unfortunately LG does not mention anything about pricing, although from what we know and based on the sizes, chances are these displays won’t come cheap. We expect more details about pricing and availability to be shared at CES 2019, so check back with us in January for updates.
