The problem with working outside is that you never know who could be looking over your shoulder. Even if you don’t have anything to hide and aren’t doing anything illegal, we’re sure that we all can appreciate a little privacy nonetheless. Safe for sitting in the corner with your back against the wall, Lenovo might have something for you.

The company has recently announced an update to its ThinkPad laptops where they have been updated with an emphasis placed on privacy. This comes in the form of PrivacyGuard which will rely on the laptop’s webcam. The webcam will be used to track your eyes so when it detects that you’re looking at the screen, it will then be on the alert to anyone who might be peeking over your shoulder.

According to Engadget who tested it out, when it detects someone looking over your shoulder, it will display a symbol to let you know. There will also be the ThinkShutter webcam shield that will help prevent the webcam from spying on you should anyone manage to hijack it remotely. Other improvements include HDR on the displays on the laptops which covers the ThinkPad X390, X390 Yoga, T490s, T490 and T590 lineup. So if privacy is a huge concern of yours, especially when working outdoors, then these laptops could be worth checking out.
